Incident: 3rd Alarm Structure fire in Sydney’s west

Factory Fire, Jamisontown

On the night of October 10, 2023, Fire & Rescue NSW responded to a reported factory fire on Regentville Road, Jamisontown, located in the western region of Sydney. Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered a substantial fire within a manufacturing facility specialising in perfumes and fragrances, situated within a complex comprising multiple factory units.

Due to the substantial amounts of combustible liquids kept on the property, the fire breached the facility’s roof, causing a complete collapse. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used power saws to make access points to nearby structures in an effort to contain the fire. Aerial Pumpers 86, 97, and 27 Ladder Platform were put to work, along with a number of appliances from the area, forming a 3rd Alarm Response.

The fire was contained after an hour and limited to the original factory, with firefighters utilising the factory complex ring main to protect the surrounding exposures.
